We are a business with a rich history spanning 3 generations, and we want to tell you our story.

Mediworld is a retail business specialising in medical equipment. Since 1973, it has supported large businesses, NHS hospitals, private hospitals, medical professionals and care homes, as well as members of the community, by empowering and improving the quality of life of our customers. From a small showroom specialising in surgical instruments for local doctors and health practitioners in the 1970s, we have conquered 50 years of business and branched out into homecare, rehab and first-aid equipment, as well as supplying internationally.

Our Story Begins
50 Years Ago...

Founded in 1973...

Pan Servico Surgical Ltd was founded in 1973 when we were just a small showroom at 436 Streatham High Road specialising in surgical instruments for local doctors and health practitioners.

Ikram and Madge (pictured above) had one goal; to provide the best service possible. People from the local community would come in looking for products they had not yet stocked, and Ikram would take it upon himself to find a manufacturer and introduce the product as part of their inventory. The mindset of allowing the community to influence the business has continued with future generations of the family.

In 1985, the name “Mediworld” was formed. Ikram and Madge's two sons (Shehzad and Naveed) both joined the business in later years. They began dealing with exports.

This drove the company forward and the company embarked on quite the journey since.

1986

Shehzad Khan joined the business. He was working in the school holidays from the early 1980's.

1998

First order with WHO. This sparked the beginning of our export business. First order from an Aid Agency came soon after.

2005

Naveed joins full-time; had also spent every school holiday as a child working!

2021

The third generation (Hamid) joins the business.

Our Values

Over the course of time, we have developed values that we hold true to our heart.

Our values spell out the acronym FEEL. We want to spark a feeling for both our customers and employees. These can be multiple feelings. A feeling of making a significant impact in our community. A feeling of protecting our society. A feeling of empowering our customers. A feeling of gratitude when a customer receives a product. A feeling of security and comfort. We are a support bubble for our customers. Our goal and purpose is to empower our communities, and enable our businesses to thrive.

Flexibility – this translates to both how our staff work, and how we approach our customers' problems. Flexible to help the needs of the customer. We want the customer to know they have multiple options on how they can buy – pick up in-store, buy through the website, hold the stock for them. We accommodate.
